Exquisite wide brim hat from the late 1960's to early 1970's. Deep crown is covered in large silk roses, all white except for one blush. Brim is an ivory double layer of flexible chiffon which also covers the crown under the florals.
Interior is a stiff net base with the standard petersham ribbon.
Label is Gigi of New York.
There are some condition issues. There are several breaks in the chiffon layers near the edge, also a streak of soiling on the underneath. The silk flowers also show some glue spots and a few small holes. I have photographed this very closely for your inspection.
Inner circumference is 21 1/2 inches. There is a size tag of 22. Measuring on the outside, side to side is approximately 20 inches. This is a very large hat, styled for attention.
