Solid silver Victorian era ,verge chain driven fusee pair-case pocket watch by Daniel Pailthorp of Grimsby.
The watch with a pretty Hand painted "Farm Scene" enamel dial, in good condition, very fine hair line.
The watch is keeping Fair verge time.
This is a beautifully made English key-wound man's verge pocket watch, dating from 1867, the watch is in full working order and comes complete with a key for winding.
THE DIAL: Enamel dial with black Roman numerals in stunning condition.
Gold style hands.
The bullseye glass in very fair condition., with some ageing.
Diameter is 48 mm.

THE MOVEMENT: Good with richly gilded full plate in wonderful condition.
The well engraved, the back plate with further gilded decoration and finely made brass Time regulator plate with finely pierced and decorated balance cock. The watch signed, D.Pailthorp of Grimsby, number 55188.
The watch is keywind, comes with a key and is ticking very strongly indeed and movement size is 43 mm diameter.
. The Fusee: Movement has several high quality features.
The screws are original, and the gilding is still bright and fresh.
THE CASE: 80 mint, the solid silver outer case measures 55 mm outside diameter. Hallmarked London by Benjamin Norton 1867.
The matching silver inner case: Measures 49 mm and with some fine patination marks as shown. The five knuckle square outer case hinge is excellent with the case closing tight and like-wise the inner case hinge also closes tight. The inner case with London hall-marks clearly visible, with case maker mark of "Philip Woodman & Sons" 1875.
The bow, not Silver, round replacement, in good condition.
The outer case with no holes or any damage, but some dings & dongs as expected. The surface is complete and in very fine and bright condition. The cases of heavy gauge and a good weight and feel in the pocket.
Also come with a "Half Albert" fancy chain with coin & key, not Silver.
