This circa 1780's chest measures 40" at widest points (between outside of front legs), 22" at deepest points (outside measurement of 2 side legs) and 71.5" tall. This chest unlike most highboys you find, is not a married chest. It been constructed of maple and chestnut secondary (which is typical of Rhode Island area cabinet makers). It have period brass and likely original to the chest. It appear to be refinished recently. It appear re finisher have used a technique to enhance the appear of figured maple. Chest is in very good condition with the exception of a chip on corner of top drawer and a chip on the top right corner molding as shown in the pictures. We can have the chips repaired if desired (It will cost about $100 for each chip repair). Please feel free to ask any question you may have on this piece.
