Fairyland lustreware is one of Wedgwood’s best-known ceramic ranges, and was the project of one designer, Daisy Makeig-Jones, in the 1920s.
This plate is decorated with a row of maroon imps walking across a bridge. There is a green Roc bird flying above the bridge and a maroon imp in a green canoe in the water below the bridge. The rim of the plate is decorated with gold against an orange/yellow background. The back of the plate is sponge painted in blue, purple and black. Stamped on the back “Wedgwood Made in England” and “W558” (the W558 stamp is in black hard to see against the sponge painting)
The plate measures 10.75" in diameter
