Atsuko-golden beauty, splendor, authentic Japanese silk kimono with golden thread, embroidery of the Imperial Gosho-guruma (carts). Woven silk Kimono (furisode kimono). This example reveals the enormous skill with which textile artists of the early twentieth century, who employed the free-hand resist-dyeing technique known as yuzen, exploited chemical dyes to produce designs that were precise and detailed yet dramatic and exciting. Here lustrous silk embroidery has also been used to highlight the entire design, while others have been edged with gold.
Atsuko kimono was created to describe a Japanese Princess' beauty or alluring clothes; to compare the bearer to flowers, jewels, and gold; to wish the bearer a long life, many blessings, much wealth, and good fortune. This kimono design used to be worn by princess daughters of shoguns and daimyos. Made of 14 meters (16 yards) of kinsha (silk), fully lined with another 14 meters (16 yards) of silk. Hand stitched and hand embroidered (please see all the photos included for its beauty).
It is an authentic collectors’ silk embroidered kimono. This is NOT one of those tourist-shop, satin kimono. It is the real deal, made of extra-refined silk rinzu woven in the traditional Japanese high-quality craftsmanship.
