This is a traditional Japanese straight-sleeved coat imprinted with a distinctive mon (crest). The family crest used by the Japanese Kasai clan, established in the 12th century. Made of hand-spun Japanese cotton and asa (hemp) coarse blend. They are usually worn only to festivals. Originally these represented the crest of a family, as happi were worn by house servants.
Item is 100% authentic. Kimono dates from the beginning of Showa period. Collectors' wall display and memorabilia. Opt for a wall display that is dramatic and easy. The back of this garment can be displayed due to its fine ornamentation.
