Use of Sardonyx appears in the art of Minoan Crete, notably from the archaeological recoveries at Knossos. Onyx was used in Egypt as early as the Second Dynasty to make bowls and other pottery items.
Fuchin are weights to keep scrolls from curling up and to keep them in position. Fuchin also add a nice touch to the scroll and are quite decorative in their own right. The fuchin in this listing feature gold colored tassels, and the Onyx is a Sardonyx with a beautiful pattern. They come with their original paper box.
