Uniquely rimpa-technique-hand-painted, striking, silk furisode kimono, with delightful garden of flowers. Kinkoma-Couched gold-wrapped thread embroidery also emphasizes the traditional Japanese artistry. Hand-painted by master Japanese artist whose name is labeled inside. The designer of this kimono pushed his talent to the limit, reinventing local techniques while incorporating new influences with vibrant colors. Made of extremely soft, elegant silk, fully lined with silk. The lapel is hiro-eri and is silk layered.
Entirely hand stitched, hand-embroidered, and woven. There are 28 meters (31 yards) of yuzen silk fabric fashioned in this kimono. The bottom is slightly padded in order to trail along the floor.
Kimono is an authentic collectors’ item and it’s unique. It was acquired at a vintage luxury kimono store in Fukuoka, Japan assisted by a Japanese professional. Many different factors determine prices. First: age, rarity, and condition. Second: aesthetics. Since in Japan the best kimono have always been considered textile art, kimono prices can vary as much as do prices on paintings. Thus, beautiful and rare kimono command a premium.
Condition: Excellent vintage. Vintage item from the 1970s. Item is pre-owned and pre-loved which only make this kimono more desirable and eye-catching. Extremely minimal foxing, inherent with storing silk (natural fabrics) and age.
