I have 2 of these absolutely stunning 19th century French hats. They are museum quality - 1870s, very finely woven straw hats. Both have the original Paris shop labels attached, and are unworn, with no damage, marks or stains. They would have been profusely decorated with ribbons, feathers and ruffles as required by the new owner - and worn atop an elaborate coiffure as you can see in the last image (taken from the 1876 Magasins du Louvre, Paris, hat catalogue). In pristine condition. Approximately 30cms in diameter (12"). Very beautiful - the straw indigo blue with a fabulous sheen. This listing is for ONE hat.
