A new consignment of absolutely stunning boudoir boxes - all covered with the most beautiful authentic 19th century fabrics - Toile de Jouy, romantic florals, cabbage roses and softly faded prints, and lined with authentic 18th and 19th century sepia print letters. I have carefully sorted them into coordinating colours, and am listing three lots on Ruby Lane this week.
This is a very large rectangular box, covered with an 18th Century (1785) toile de Jouy entitled "Fishing and Maritime Commerce! It is in excellent condition, with almost no damage - the odd tiny storage marks and allover fading. Lovely faded pink tones. The edges are all good. With the lid on, the box measures 38cm x 27cms x 10cms (15" x 10.5" x 4"). Beautiful box for storing boudoir treasures, sewing notions, cards, love letters, photos and ephemera!
