A very beautiful, if somewhat timeworn pair of early Victorian (circa 1810 - 1820) ecru silk wedding shoes with beautiful rosettes embellishing the fronts. They have low, silk covered heels and leather soles. The fronts of the shoes are in good condition, with the odd mark here and there. The silk on the sides and backs of the shoes has fared less well, and is fragmenting, with the white kid leather below showing through. The rosettes are beautiful, with just a little whiskering around the extremities. The shoes are quite large in size - 11 inches long and 2.5 inches wide (measured on the leather soles.). Wonderful display items for the collector of antique shoes.
