A 19th century English antique teacup and saucer with hand painted decoration of flowers, palm trees and Oriental buildings. The cup is marked with a pattern number 57, and there are no other marks, which is very common in these early pieces. The cup is 2.25" high and 3.75" wide at its top. The saucer is 5 and 5/8" wide.
Condition: there are no chips or cracks, but the cup has some original dark spots at its top rim, and there are some tiny dark spots on the bottom rim of the cup as well. This set was most likely made for the general public and quickly produced. But, it's from the 1820's, so it's nearly 200 years old.
