This extra fine example of 19th Century French majolica (barbotine in France) makes a festive server for asparagus - or just to add to a stunning collection. It was manufactured by Creil & Montereau, the same company Claude Monet chose for his table service at Giverny. The colors are as fresh as the day it was created. The C&M mark is impressed on the bottom. There is a firing flaw of 2mm and a couple of nicks of 1mm and 2mm, all on the bottom of the rim and invisible when used. Overall length is 38cm/15in, width 25cm/10in, and height 9cm/3.5in. Ships from France.
