A rare pair of plates by Grainger Worcester, the English company which was in business from 1814 until around 1839. I believe that these lovely examples are from the earlier part of the company's existence, probably from around 1814-1820. Each has a gilt gadrooned edge, and each has hand painted floral decoration accented with gold gilt. Each is marked in blue Grainger Worcester (I can't quite make out the other 2 small words, but they may be "& Co."). The plates are 9" in diameter, and one of them is a bit deeper than the other. Condition: one plate has an old stress mark on its back, and it has two small tight hairlines. The other is in good condition. I love these bits of history (over 200 years old!), and I hope that you do, too. The price is for the pair. Thanks for looking!
