A marvelous antique French candy box that is a 3 and 3/8" high and 2" wide cylinder shape. It is heavy cardboard covered with navy blue leather or faux leather, and it has impressed writing on both the lid and base. The lid says "Chocolat de le Samaritaine", and the base says "Bon et Bon Marche, Masson, 91 R. Rue de Rivoli, Paris". There are also 2 impressed medallions, each saying "Masson Paris". From the research I have done, Masson was open in the mid to late 1800's at that location.
Condition: there are bits of loss here and there, and the bottom has a bit of stain, but this is in overall good condition.
