This is a fine Modernist Sterling Silver and Aventurine Pin/Brooch by Kupittaan Kulta Oy of Finland. Elis Kauppi (1921-2004) founded Kupittaan Kulta Oy in 1945 in Turku, Finland and was one of the pioneers in Finnish modern jewelry.
A simple and minimalist design, this piece can be strung as a pendant. The design is typical of Kulta’s clean simple lines. It measures 2" long and 7/8" at its widest point. The Aventurine cabochon set into a sterling silver setting, measures approximately 1" long and 1/4" wide. It has a trombone closure which is in good working order. A mid century Scandinavian piece, minimalist, simple and elegant. The back is marked 925 for sterling silver, Finland and with anvil mark, which was the hallmark for Kupittaan Kulta Oy and used between 1945 and 1997.
Dimensions are : 2" Long x 7/8" Wide. It is in excellent vintage condition, attesting to gentle care when worn.
