Very old trunk or trousseau box for a doll, wonderfully shabby with Caribbean map illustration and in desirably worn condition. We love our stuff to look old, right? Here is a handpainted trunk with a lovely design on top and sides, medieval pirate-type metal handles and latch. All is showing wear but is in good shape: the interior of the trunk has an interesting embossed paper lining that looks to date from the late 1940's or early 1950's. I believe the map is original. The hinges are a brown grosgrain ribbon, quite sturdy. Displays very well, and will work with dolls for display, storage or any other shabby idea you may have for it. It's a slightly unusual shape- somewhat flatter and longer than most doll trunks. Measures 12.75 inches long by 8 inches wide by 5.625 high.
