Gebruder Heubach German Bisque Character Doll, 12 inches tall, circa 1915. Made by the German firm of Gebruder Heubach, with a bisque socket head and a ball jointed composition body. The body has the original finish and is a very nice heavy well articulated body. Her head has brown glass sleep eyes that work well and an open mouth with upper teeth. The brown mohair wig is likely original to the doll, with side braids, but it is not attached at the sides so there is access to the inside of her head. The back of the neck is marked with the Heubach Square mark and "8192.//Germany//Gebruder Heubach//G 4 H." The bisque is in good condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The body has normal played-with wear, with no issues to mention. Our young girl is dressed in replaced and appropriate clothing: a well made red cotton dress, lace trimmed pinafore and cotton underclothing. She has newer socks and antique shoes. This is an adorable girl with beautiful large luminous eyes and oh so round cheeks!
