Armand Marseille Queen Louise doll, original composition body. This 26 inch, gorgeous girl has grey/ blue sleep eyes, full eyelashes, cheeks delicately blushed, painted feathered brows, well defined nose and lips, dimpled chin, open mouth, and four teeth. She has a wonderful human hair wig that is possibly original, falling in stunning ringlets. She is wearing what I believe is her original silk taffeta dress; the selvedges in the dress seams say "Skinner's Taffeta". Also wears a vintage coral colored cloche with flowers, ribbon and a vintage hat pin. Underclothing is an old petticoat of plain cotton and knickers, with lace, that are more recent. Brown cotton knee high socks. Her shoes are handmade, of leather, and are very pretty- not sure how old they are, showing no wear. Bisque head is in very good condition with no cracks or chips. Eye wax is excellent, sleep eyes work well, all eyelashes present. She has a light area on her left cheek, and another, lighter one on the left. Her body has its original finish, and so do her hands, although whatever varnish was used on them has ambered. There has been some repair to the body: the front hip joints and the rear right hip joint, and to the right shoulder joint. A beautiful classic in very good, played with, condition.
