Antique tinted bisque solid dome head lady by Alt Beck. This stunning 22 inch doll is a shoulderhead on what appears to be her original body, and what a body it is ! All the effort that’s gone into allowing a doll to move like a human, and here’s a simple cloth body with attitude and feminine attributes. Wonderful body language, a shapely behind, slender ankles and feet, original leather lower arms in very good condition especially considering how they usually are found. The body is in excellent shape, made of a midweight cotton, and her bisque head is perfect. A truly lovely face, intelligent blue eyes, well shaped mouth, nose and philtrum, and I believe this is her original light red mohair wig with a braids that meet in the back. Coral glass beads adorn her ears, matching her cheeks and lip color.
As if this lady was not wonderful enough in all her naked glory, we have fabulous clothing, too. Underneath this two piece dress made by a talented sewer (I cannot tell when this was made, but I see no evidence it was recently) : three antique petticoats, a lace-trimmed chemise and knickers. Prepared for all eventualities, I would say, and aside from a stain on the top of the knickers, all is in excellent condition. Need I mention the boots? Any more effusiveness on my part and I will talk myself out of selling her, and I did not intend to sell her in the first place. There are no marks on her head that can be seen, but I feel fairly sure who made her.
