Printed cloth doll by Art Fabric Mills with a lovely face. These dolls were sold as fabric panels to be sewn and stuffed at home around the early 1900's by this company as well as Arnold Print. I believe this is one of the earliest versions of this doll. This 24 inch tall doll, circa the early 20th century, is lithographed in oil on heavy fabric. The coloring is still vibrant and she has great personality. Wearing printed underclothing, she has a red bow in her hair and printed red one stripe shoes. There is some age discoloration but otherwise is quite sturdy and clean. Clearly, the original owner named this doll "Irene" as this name has been written on her torso and her shoe. How delightful to know just this small piece of history about a doll that was obviously treasured.
