Hertel Schwab toddler 18 inch boy, Model 151. This chubby faced young boy, with a socket head and a pudgy double chin, is a classic Hertel Schwab in every way with arched, expressive eyebrows, wispy painted hair, ruddy cheeks, dimples in each cheek and chin, bright and alert stationary brown glass eyes, wonderfully shaped and painted open mouth. I have made this maritime suit for him of woven cotton checked fabric and antique ribbon with a linen dickie. A very detailed and quite old bronze anchor charm is attached. Underneath, he wears a vintage onesie, and cotton socks with replacement shoes. He is in very good condition with these notes: composition body shows some play, (shapely, muscular legs!) the back of right arm has a crack to the outer finish, right hand has fingers repaired/repainted. His socket head is designed with round cut outs on each side of the bottom opening for the neck joint and the left side cut out has a chip. This is normally hidden by the body, the chip is at the bottom of the mold line and there is no auxiliary damage. A very cute boy who is obviously anxious to play!
