Beautiful 24 inch German bisque girl Kestner model 164, circa 1890’s. This delicious girl has everything going for her. Her socket head has a pale, creamy bisque complexion, deep brown sleep eyes, open mouth with 4 teeth, painted lashes, multistroke, molded glossy eyebrows. In addition, she has truly compelling eyes: wise beyond her years, melancholy and sweet tempered. A dream to pose, on her original body with no repaint or repair, stamped Germany in red. Body is in excellent condition with a little wear from play, all fingers present and in great shape. She has a wonderful curly brown human hair wig, I see no reason to think it is not original. Her sleep eyes work perfectly and her eye wax is excellent.
Then, we have the clothing! Someone made her a pale pink silk dress, over a cream silk blouse, buttoning in back. Underneath that we have two petticoats, both are the same and knickers that match the petticoats in trim. There is also a factory chemise or little short sleeve dress. These dolls could be purchased more affordably, to be dressed at home, wearing only a pretty undergarment plus shoes and socks. Original shoes and socks are here, too. Topped off by a lacy hat with a tassel and flower. Marked K 1/2 (Made in) 14 1/2 (Germany) 164.
This is a fairly large doll. If shipping seems very high, do not hesitate to ask me for a realistic quote.
