Very pretty Wax over plaster small size doll in christening gown, 11 inches. This sweet doll has an engaging and realistic face, doesn't she? Her head and shoulderplate are in very good to excellent condition, with no cracks to the wax, as are her lower arms and legs. I believe her wig, hand-tied and a little sparse, is original. Her body, upper arms and legs are replacements. Her cotton and lace clothing is well made and detailed, made at some time later than the doll. An intricate and well made bonnet graces her head. Lots of pretty peach silk ribbon, bows and ridiculously tiny little crocheted booties. I managed to remove one of those booties to see a lovely little foot in perfect shape with delineated toes. I am not going to attempt the other one because my fingers are not happy re-tying those little bows. Photos show unusually detailed ears, and I cannot determine whether her eyes were set or are originally that way. One can see an initial under the wax on her head...a bit of mystery there, especially with the cut-out area. All in all, quite a wonderful doll to grace your cabinet.
