Vintage pair of bisque bonnet head dolls in original costumes. What a charming couple this is in their coordinated outfits and side glancing eyes! Someone went to a lot of trouble to make this clothing for them, and it was appreciated by others too; there is an inventory number taped to the inside of the man’s scarf and the inside of the lady’s skirt, museum or large collection-ish. Anyway, I am very attracted to their little feet in black shoes, as well as the clothing, which is inventive and pleasing. It is sewn on and cannot be removed, and no markings to be seen if they are present. Both are 7 inches tall, in excellent condition with only some age related darkening on the lady’s knickers. The bodies are well stuffed cloth, and the tops of legs and arms are cloth. Lady has a bobbed haircut and molded cap, wears knickers, petticoat, skirt, apron, floral top and a red cotton bow with hand stitching along the edges. Our man with another molded cap wears delightful striped trousers with button beads. a red shirt matching the lady’s bow, and a blue scarf. Both sets of lower arms are untinted bisque with spoon hands that are more detailed than usual. There is one tiny dark glaze spot on the lady’s left arm.
