German bisque head child doll by Kestner, Model 129. This ever so sweet and exquisite early open-mouthed beauty will steal your heart. 16 inches tall, with feathered brows, expressive brown glass sleep eyes, softly blushed cheeks, dimpled chin. Her lovely mouth, with upturned corners, has 4 upper teeth and a molded tongue. Original finish on her composition and wood body, which holds a pose well, and the condition is excellent. Her arms are a little bit looser than the rest, right index finger has repaint/repair. Her head has no cracks, chips or hairlines. I believe this is the original human hair wig. Her clothing is delightful and may be original. If not, she was redressed with care and attention; her clothing is professionally well made. Look at those red shoes! They were dyed to match her outfit. Head size E9. Markings are E. /Made in Germany / 9. / 129. Stamped on body in red : Excelsior (in rectangle)/ D.R.P. No. (Illegible). I do not want to remove the socks which are tied on at top. Very minor, must be mentioned: a small white mark on left cheek, eye wax all present but her eyes do not close fully. A real beauty.
