German all-bisque miniature doll with beautiful face. This exquisite little gem is 6 inches tall. Although this doll is almost certainly German, she is of the type sometimes called "French Style". A socket head on a narrow hipped body, much detail to the curves, with a cute little rear end. Peg joints. She does not appear to have been played with, so I cannot say for certain whether these joints have been replaced: they look fairly new. This is her original wig, lightly attached, and her hat is pinned to the wig. Her blue glass eyes are in their original set; she has a slant top closed dome head. Her facial features are crisp and early out of the mold. Wide one stroke eyebrows, painted lashes, sweet little nose, a well shaped pouty mouth. Her hands are wonderful and detailed. Black Mary Jane shoes are shiny and pristine. Clothing was made for her at sometime in the past, giving me the impression of 1940's, and the clothing is carefully and quite well made. A tiny cotton crocheted hat with ribbon flowers perched on her head. The bisque is substantial and an evenly glazed pink. Marked 31-32 / 15. Her legs are marked 31 /15. Excellent condition with these minor exceptions: a chip center back of neck edge on body, and a chip to each of the hip edges of the legs, there is a tiny dot of extra black glaze on one leg. She does stand on her own, but it will be much safer to keep this dreamy little girl on a stand.
