Pair of miniature musical stringed instruments. This is a wooden guitar, 7.375 inches in length, 2.25 inches wide, .5 inches deep, and another wooden stringed instrument I cannot identify yet. That one is 6.5 inches long, 1.5 wide, and 1.25 inches deep. Both have strings and pegs. They are inlaid very decoratively with mother of pearl and are covered in tortoiseshell. Neither of those surfaces have survived intact; there is chipping, cracking and pieces missing. They display very well, and would be perfect for a smaller or cabinet sized doll to hold. There are no marks that identify these in any way, but they appear to be very old. I am guessing these were, at one time, elaborately made souvenirs, and they are quite attractive in a display with dolls and accessories.
