Miniature all-bisque Hertwig children. These tiny children were made in the 1920's and were known as Hertwig's line of "Puppenfamilie" They were sold in little boxes of characters within a family, 3 or 4 to a box. Apparently they were painted after firing since most often the very bright original colors have worn off. The yellow in the photos is brighter than in real life. This charming group of three girls is sized this way: the one with the yellow bow is 1.875 inches tall, the one with the green bow and yellow dress is 1.625 inches and the one without a hair bow is 1.75 inches. I love the tiny ones and here is a sweet group to add to your collection.
