German bisque blonde man by Gebruder Kühnlenz with glass eyes and wonderful clothing. This 16 inch tall young man is easily envisioned at a Jane Austen dance or perhaps later in one of Henry James’s novels. Molded hair parted in center, heavily brushed eyebrows, delightful deep set pale blue eyes, deeply sculpted mouth, beautifully detailed bisque hands with all fingers intact. Bisque head is in fine condition with nothing to report but a surface scratch on left cheek. He is the kind of young man your girls are going to swoon over. His body is an early leather chunky gusseted one with hefty thighs and knees that are always at a slight angle. As if he is not handsome enough, he wears clothing (sewn on) that suits him perfectly. Herringbone wool trousers, a pleated high collared shirt, a double breasted silk vest and a wool jacket with brass buttons. He wears long knickers under his trousers. I have taken the jacket off but the sleeves are very snug and I do not want to remove again. All else is sewn on and aside from some melting to the silk on the right side of the vest (the silk is covering a gabardine and lined garment), all is in excellent condition. He is marked on lower edge of shoulder plate: G: K. / 19 . 26.
