Early Hand Painted black box. What a gorgeous box! Handpainted flowers- look like roses and daisies, with leaves and little blue trailing blossoms. Then we have squiggles, circles and linear leaf patterns, all in wonderful colors, slightly faded with time. There is a latch but no key. In excellent condition with a small paint chip to one corner and another along the front edge. The inside is very clean and looks like there may be some wood patch in areas. No signatures or dates, so I am erring on the side of youth and will say early 1900’s- but this could be a handpainted box by a talented student of decorative painting, which may mean a couple of decades later. Measures 8 by 4.75 by 3.5 inches deep.
