Rare Kammer and Reinhardt Model 192 sailor boy. 21 inches tall, our handsome boy is dressed in a handmade sailor suit of navy blue velvet and silk dupion, adorned with old brass buttons and trimmed with soutache. He wears black cotton socks and uncommonly fine black cloth shoes. A socket head, big blue glass eyes are stationary and may have been set. Pate is glued on. I am not going to remove the pate to investigate since it will surely disintegrate, being quite old if it's not original. Open mouth with 4 teeth. Original very good quality handtufted wig of mohair. His composition body has its original finish with no repairs or repaint, all fingers present, and body is in excellent condition with some wear from use to the joints. Stringing is fine. Bisque shows no chips, cracks or hairlines. Marked only with a number 192 / 9. There is a photo of this doll or model on page 177 of the Cieslik's Encyclopedia.
