German bisque doll, 10 inch Gebruder Heubach Laughing Boy. This classic and desirable boy, circa the early 20th century, has a 3 ¼ inch tall shoulder head and was manufactured by the German firm of Gebruder Heubach. He is in entirely original condition with a cloth body and papier mache lower arms and legs. The cloth body is jointed at the shoulders and hips. He has an open/closed mouth with molded and painted tongue and two lower teeth, two blue painted side glancing intaglio eyes and a solid dome head with molded and painted hair. The back of the head is incised, “0/Germany.” There is a number mark on the lower edge of the back bisque shoulder plate that is illegible. There is also a green stamped number that looks to say "S3". The head is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The body is also in excellent condition. I believe the white cotton lace trimmed costume is also factory original.
