This Taille D'Epargne Bangle gold antique bangle is lovely and has very fine enamel detail. The bangle was hand etched all the way around. There are 2 areas, one on either side that I believe were meant to be monogrammed. It was not thankfully.
The yellow gold is testing for at least 14K. The push down clasp is in perfect working order and it closes with a perfect snap.
This is a small bangle or maiden bangle intended for a woman with a small wrist, or a lovely young lady. It measures 2 1/4" x 1 3/4". The bangle is a hair under 1/4" wide and weighs 7 grams. The inside circumference is 6" so please do measure your wrist. Because it is hinged it is very easy to put on. It is most difficult for women with small wrists to find pieces in this size.
The outside of the bangle is excellent with not a ding, dent or any enamel loss. Inside there are 2 very tiny indentations. This certainly does not distract in my opinion as these old Victorian bangles were made with a hollow center. Frequently we see dings on the outside so this is wonderful..
Circa 1880, Victorian period. Not hallmarked however acid tested for at least 14K.
Questions are always welcome and always encouraged. If you have a medium or large wrist, this bangle will not work for you..
