This is simply superb! This just arrived from Italy and I just had to wear it at least once. Friday I wore this to a very high end antique show we have near San Francisco. I have never worn a piece that I have had more compliments on. Words like 'stunning, remarkable, outrageous and Wow were just a few! I have to say this was difficult to photograph but it is much nicer and even more beautiful in hand.

The necklace slide is all original. The pastes in the main piece are black dot and of course they were all hand cut for this mount. They are alive with sparkle and lively as can be. There is a very large pear shaped paste that is really just the icing on the cake.

The 3 portraits are all hand painted and the women are quite lovely. These are not the typical gray haired woman we see so frequently. Most likely this was a personally commissioned piece by a wealthy family. The woman in the center appears a bit older than the girls on the ends. They all are wearing fancy Georgian earrings and necklaces with hair pristine.

The main mount is silver. The large pear paste is set in 15K fancy crimped silver and gold. All of the patina I have left in place. It is quite dark patina on the back but I do not like to disturb what has taken 300 years to accumulate.

It is an impressive size slightly more than 2 1/2" across. Measuring from top of middle portrait to bottom of dangle is 1 3/4". It is a heavy piece and weighs just a hair under 20 grams.

This is an early piece where ribbons were meant to wear your necklace slides on. A thick black ribbon easily does the job and it lays perfectly on the neck.

Behind the portraits on the backside they all have some indentations to the silver. It does not distract in the least in my opinion. The only other thing to possibly mention is the center portrait is not quite as pristine as the other two however again I will say, this does not distract.

It was purchased in Italy however it could have been produced in France, Portugal or even England.

Good condition as mentioned in listing.

Circa 1760. Questions are always welcome and encouraged.
