This sparkly antique Edwardian ring dates the first part of the 20th century and is handcrafted in 18K white gold. There are 8 lively very white diamonds which makes up such a pretty cluster.
The ring ~
The center stone is a round brilliant cut but the 7 surrounding stones are all old mine cuts. The center stone is approximately 20+ points and each of the diamonds in the round measure approx 15 points a piece for a total of 125 points or 1 1/4 carats. The diamonds are all open backed. They are quite high on the color chart and are very white, not yellow. They are sitting in the G-H category. The center stone has a small brush of carbon when viewed through a jewelers loop. The mine cut diamonds are not without any inclusions but are quite eye clean. The design of the cluster was modern for the period it was made. It sits flush on the finger with its smooth mount, has a wide face and very comfortable band. It is remarkably comfortable on the finger.
It was crafted in tested solid 18K white gold and is completely original.
It measures slightly more than 1/2" x 1/2" across the face and weighs 4 grams. It is currently a US size 7 but can easily be sized by any experienced bench jeweler.
Mine cut diamonds are wonderful.. Each a bit different and each owning its own personality. They work in perfectly with this mount.
