This really pretty 4-strand rolled gold necklace was purchased in Italy by my longtime friend and buyer.
The clasp is interesting and you pull up the small tab to release it. The strands measure 15" being the shortest and 16 1/2 the longest, measured to the end of the clasp. It is of fine quality and although not solid gold it really has the look. There is a small hallmark behind the clasp which is AR inside of a triangular cartouche. This would have been made in the city of Arezzo, Italy.
The necklace lays flat on the neck and is very comfortable. It weighs 80 grams so it is substantial. When worn, the strands gather in the front for a very classy and elegant look. It can be dressed up with your favorite little black dress or dressed down with your favorite T-shirt.
Circa 1915 ~ Edwardian period. Italian in origin.
