This is a really pretty green paste ring. The green looks very much like peridot. The stone was emerald cut and very little of the mount gets in the way of the stone. There are simply 4 nice size prongs that keep the stone in place. It is open backed so the sun floods through. You will not have to worry about disturbing delicate foils with this ring and it can be submerged in water.
The ring has professionally tested for 14K yellow gold. The stone measures 11 x 9 x 5mm deep. That is equivalent to a 3 1/2 - 4 carat diamond. It is a US size 6 1/2 and can easily be sized up or down by 2 full sizes.
The ring is in very good antique condition. There is one minor scratch on the paste however will never be noticed on the finger. It lays low on the finger and can comfortably be worn everyday.
Circa 1900 sitting directly on the Victorian / Edwardian border. Questions are always welcome and encouraged.
