A fantastic cushion cut paste puffy heart.. The heart is hallmarked 3 times on the bail and in several other areas.
Although this is has a French boar's head, this has professionally tested to be 950 by my bench jeweler who has a very high-tech piece of equipment. It tests metals and there is zero room for error. The high silver content is very nice as there is no need to continually polish..
The heart is just wonderful and the pastes are set so close together it really gives the feel of a pave set piece of jewelry. Each and every stone has a collet-set or rubbed over setting so the stones will not fall out. The center largest stone is fancy collet crimped. This was a very popular way to set stones in the Georgian period.
I adore the big bow on top. It is articulated just below so there is lovely movement.
It is a nice large piece and measures 1 3/4" x 7/8" x 1/4" deep.
Although my very finest buyer in Italy purchased this for me (thank you Raffaella) this is French in origin.
A transitional piece, Circa 1850 which is late Georgian, early Victorian period.
When I look at the stones under my 30x jeweler's hood I can see a couple of stones that have some gentle loving wear. Certainly nothing that distracts and I am certain one would never know. I do try and mention absolutely everything in my listings.
Such a wonderful puffy heart.. Questions are welcome and always encouraged..
