A basket of gold flowers... What could be better? Beautiful open flower baskets on top, Large French wires, a wreath of flowers and 4 stars that are articulated and move with the slightest move of the head..
These have the most impressive movement and are articulated 3 times. They are completely hand etched and decorated by the bench jeweler. He added fabulous large, easy opening French wires which go on and come off very easily.
Although they look heavy and substantial they are actually not heavy and extremely comfortable on the ear. Each earring weighs exactly 4.1 grams for a total of 8.2 grams. The earrings are gold gilt.
2 1/2" Dangle x 1" across
These were purchased in Italy. The dealer they were purchased from felt that these were from Germany and referred to them as "German Biedermeier" and my buyer was told that these are extremely rare to find in this condition.
If you collect the unique, unusual or hard to find, these might just fit into your collection perfectly. It is very difficult to find gold earrings from this era.
Circa 1840 ~ Late Georgian / Early Victorian
Pristine, with no apologies to be made.
I happen to just adore these earrings as I've never seen another pair like them.. Questions are always welcome and encouraged.
