I have been a Bakelite collector for 20 years now. A plastic addition if you will. I purchased this truly amazing bracelet a year ago March in New York from Fran who is featured in The Book of Bakelite. This Exact bracelet was featured in the book and one quarter of a page was dedicated to showing this off. Although it shows beautiful in the book, it is far better in hand. The combination of black, pink and cream enamel hand applied dots is stunning. The open filigree work and the painted Bakelite bars will just Wow you.. I must add that meeting Fran at the New York Pier show was such an honor. She such a beautiful person (inside and out) that I have had the pleasure of doing business with. So, if she happens to come across this listing, thank you Fran, I truly adore you, your style and your zest for life..
The bracelet measures 6 7/8" long x 1 1/4" wide. The tongue in groove push down clasp works perfectly and is nice and tight. The enamel work was put on top of silver then it was rhodium plated. The bracelet is in Excellent condition. This is a French bracelet and is stamped Made in France on the insertion portion of the back of the bracelet. The Only thing to mention is that a bit of the rhodium plating on the back of the bracelet is a bit worn. Other than that, no apologies to be made. This simply screams Deco! It is by far the nicest deco bracelet I have owned. Circa 1930, French in Origin and simply delicious. Questions are always welcome and encouraged.
Please Note: I did not think I would ever let this piece go however the San Francisco wedding my daughter just had has swayed my decision. I am firm on my price. I realize it is a pricey piece however in my opinion, worth every penny! Enjoy.. From my collection to yours.
