What a wonderful Retro Brooch this is.. This is a large bow with clear bead set white paste stones and blue channel set sapphire paste stones. The pastes are so high quality that they actually look like diamonds and sapphires, so much so that I actually tested them. These are in fact hand cut paste stones, not rhinestones. So unique in that they used a gold vermeil over Sterling silver in both Rose Gold and a Yellow Gold wash. It is opposite on either side so one side of the bow is rose, and the opposite ribbon portion is also rose. The reverse of yellow gold is seen on the other side. The back is signed Sterling Taylord and + 1/20 12 Kt. I have not seen this stamp before. The pin back is in perfect working order and there is a locking clasp so the piece will not be lost. It is a nice size and measures 3" across x 1 3/4" across. The brooch is in very good to Excellent condition. There is no gold loss and the only thing to possibly mention is there is just a touch of tarnish to the back of piece on one part of the upper bow. It will likely just polish off. The brooch weighs 12.6 grams so it is nice and substantial. It really would look marvelous on a jacket lapel, a hat or perhaps on your little black dress. This piece sits right on the Deco / Retro boarder and is Circa 1940, American made. Its Fab.. Questions are always welcome.
