I know that I am not alone in just adoring Miriam Haskell's style. She was some kind of women! Her designs have been copied and reproduced by other designers for years and years. Also, it has long time been rumored that Robert who later opened a company (Originals by Robert) worked for Ms. Haskell. He denied it however his pieces were almost an exact replica of hers. I cannot say for sure if he did or did not however boy do their pieces look alike!
This is one very unusual bangle. There are twisted wire flowers with a white Baroque pearl in the center of each. The bangle has an open mesh type back. I have tested this bangle and it is actually silver. I believe it is a low grade silver, perhaps 800 however it is in fact silver. The bracelet has 5 large applied wire flowers on the top. The back as I stated is open mesh work. It has its original safety chain in place. It is a hinged bangle and the push in clasp is working wonderfully. It closes very securely. The wall height on this piece is just a hair under 1" where the flowers are. The inside measurements are 2 1/4" x 2 1/8 which is a very standard measurement. The bangle is slightly oval which helps it not flip around on your wrist. Of course it is signed with an early Miriam Haskell mark inside. This is a terrific and highly unusual piece as I have not ever come across another Haskell piece that was produced in Silver. Circa 1940, right on the Art Deco / Retro Boarder. Questions are always welcome.
