This 122 year old MAGNIFICENT Hunter case Pocket Watch features an engraved cardinal and her nest with 3 eggs in a Victorian garden decorated with pillars, swags, ivy, and an arch. All this astonishing beauty is surrounded by a heavily ornate repousse frame. Monogrammed, "Celia" on one side, please see photos. Monogrammed pieces were given to mark important events in life and this watch may have been a wedding gift promising a bright future full of devotion and, of course, many children.
This antique pocket watch is in excellent condition, It was recently professionally cleaned and keeps accurate time. The case shows light scratching but overall very little wear. The lid pops up nicely when the crown is pressed.
The 7 jewel movement is marked "ELGIN NAT'L WATCH CO U.S.A. SAFETY PINION 6167289."
The porcelain dial is in perfect condition, no small cracks or chips.
The crystal is also in perfect condition.
