Here is a wonderful antique late 19th century French wedding dome aka "Globe de Mairee". These were designed for the bride to display all of her wedding mementos on the velvet ormolu cushion.
There are two mirrors, a dove with a laurel wreath at the top, ormolu flowers, vines, etc. These are all meaningful symbols and have different meanings for a happy marriage.
This large glass dome has a flat shape on front and back. Wavy glass. The original ebony wood base rests on it's four original feet.
This is large at approx 19" tall x 12" wide.
Condition: Overall good with no cracks or chips in glass dome. No damage to wooden base. Mirrors do not have any cracks. There is wear and staining to velvet cushion and wedding ribbon. To be expected considering age. All ormolu flowers, vines, leaves are present.
Shipping will be a bit more expensive due to the delicate nature of this item. Piece will be double boxed and VERY WELL padded/protected.
