A beautiful and well detailed vintage bronze elephant statue. The substantial piece rests on three legs with its fourth raised in a playful like movement. High quality casting gives this piece a wonderful liquidity to its movement and is very realistic.
In many African cultures, the elephant is a symbol of strength an power. It is also revered for its size, longevity, stamina, mental faculties, cooperative spirit and loyalty.
In Hindu culture they symbolize mostly strength, honour, stability and tenacity. The elephant is found in the form of Ganesha who is the god of luck, fortune, protection and is a blessing upon all new projects.
Originally purchased by previous owners in Honolulu at an antiques auction in the 1980s. This great find is now at our shop ready to be taken home by its next owner.
