A vintage 1950's Hakata Urasaki hand-painted sculpture of a man with his loving grandson sitting on his lab while kneeling at a writing desk holding the boys hand gently; teaching him properly how to hold the pen, practicing on a long white calligraphy practice sheet, using an ink brush washer tray on the corner of the desk. The pen is very delicate with a needle-sharp tip, the whole ensemble is very realistic as if a memorable family picture has been taken out and given life! The workmanship is sublime and the hand painting details of facial features are masterful as you can almost feel the grandfatherly joyful patience in his face. All and all this is a very sweet and unique heartwarming genuine piece of art. Original stickers on the bottom stamped made in Japan, 329. Measuring 8.5" tall, 6.5" wide, 6.5" deep and weighing 1.25 pound.
