Beautiful Panel of Vintage French Chateau Linen - two loom-width runners which have been hand sewn together.
Originally this was used as a tablecloth for the traditional Vendange meal after the grape harvest when everyone who had worked the harvest would eat at the edge of the fields on long tables.
These cloths are called 'Nappe de Vendange' and date from around 1910
I got them from a Vineyard near Bordeaux and have several available, please contact me for further details , they would be great for a rustic wedding or a special party.
Dating from the early 1900s the fabric is in excellent robust condition
The linen weave has a natural oatmeal fleck to it
CONDITION: generally good - two tiny rust spots, some marks of dirt along the folds from storage which will launder out.
