Dating from the early twentieth century, this little coffin and its occupant are hand-carved from unvarnished wood. Corpse is removable. Handwriting in ink on bottom of coffin reads, "A Chinese coffin is a most proper gift for an old person -- often it is bought years before needed. Nanking -- E. Durfee." Measures approx. 5" long x 1.5" wide x 1.25" tall (13cm x 4cm x 3.5cm). In excellent antique condition.
