This leather-covered glass flask is a Mardi Gras ball favor from the Krewe of Juno, a Carnival organization that paraded in St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana, during the 1970s and '80s. Deep brown leather cover is made of water buffalo hide and embossed in gold, "KREWE OF JUNO 1971." Measures approx. 7.5" tall x 4.25" wide x 1.5" deep (19cm x 10.8cm x 3.8cm). Embossed on bottom: "ORLEANS - WATER BUFFALO - 8012E." Cover snaps open and shut, but appears a bit fragile and probably shouldn't be removed from bottle. There is a flaw or worn spot in the leather on front of flask cover about 1" above the word "OF," a spot on left upper back where leather has been scratched or torn and mended, and a couple of other small worn spots (see photos). Otherwise in excellent vintage condition, and an unusual Carnival collectible.
